As your State Senator, one of my highest priorities is job creation so that middle class families can count on the economy and rely on having good, well-paying jobs. I hold regular job fairs in the 30th district to link job seekers up with local businesses and promote new opportunities. I also actively support legislation that creates jobs across the state, like the Clean Energy Jobs Act.
Not only does the Clean Energy Jobs Act lead the nation in terms of energy policy to combat climate change, but it creates thousands of green jobs as well as specific opportunities for Black and Brown residents looking to get into the green energy industry for the first time.
As a former president of the Buffalo Grove Park and former chair of the Illinois Association of Park Districts, I’ve worked to preserve natural resources, protect clean water, and clean air. In my current role as Vice Chair of the Environment and Conservation Committee in the General Assembly, I’m continuing that work by putting Illinois on a renewable path to a sustainable future.
Good energy policy is about people, not fossil fuel companies, and I’m proud to have worked on legislation that puts our planet and our people first.
