Supporting small businesses is essential to our local economy. In order to hear directly from businesses in the 30th district, I hold regular coffee chats with local businesses and tour their stores, office, and warehouses to better understand the challenges they’re facing and advocate for them in Springfield.
I’ve voted to increase the small business set-aside so that more small businesses have opportunities to win state contracts and grow their businesses. I’ve also worked to increase supplier diversity by passing legislation to increase state contracting requirements to hire more women-and-minority-owned businesses.
As we continue to recover from the pandemic, businesses need Springfield’s support, and I will always stand with them to make sure they are protected.
